Can we help the poor?? The Bible says the poor will be with us always ...yet it also says: "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their's is the kingdom of heaven."

Though there seemed to be few that were rich at the time, except the Roman rulers and officials ...and the chief priest and all those associated with taking advantage of a dictatorship ruling government.  So, there were many who were monetarily poor.

But, of that group of poor, there were those who were angry and bitter ...for what would be good reason. Yet, it speaks of poor in spirit.  Though I don't know the meaning, the concordance mentions crouching, and in that humble sense ...begging, or knowing you are in need.  It appears to me that there is a wanting for spiritual awakening, or a redeemer ...to give hope.

And the kingdom appears to focus on what is reigning ...not in the way it affects your life outwardly, but in your heart.  Of heaven, being in your heart, elevates your happiness ...with eternal endurance.
